Navigating the 2024 Landscape: Global and Nigerian Economic Outlook.

Dear Valued Clients,

As we navigate the uncertainties of 2024, understanding global economic trends is crucial for making informed investment decisions. At Sewa Asset Management Limited we're here to equip you with the knowledge you need to navigate the evolving landscape.

Global Economic Outlook :

1. Moderating Growth: The International Monetary Fund (IMF) projects global growth of 3.1% in 2024, slightly higher than anticipated. While positive, this remains below the pre-pandemic average. Inflation is expected to decline to 5.8%, offering relief from recent highs.

2. Uneven Recovery: Advanced economies face a pronounced slowdown, with growth projected at 1.2%. Emerging markets and developing economies are expected to grow at 3.9%, but many nations will still lag pre-pandemic levels.

3. Geopolitical Tensions: Ongoing conflicts and uncertainties pose significant risks, potentially disrupting supply chains and impacting energy prices.

Nigerian Economic Outlook

1. Modest Growth Expected: The World Bank forecasts Nigeria's GDP to grow 3.2% in 2024. This reflects continued post-pandemic recovery, albeit hampered by global headwinds.

2.Inflationary Pressures Remain: Though expected to ease slightly, inflation is projected to average 11.4% in 2024, impacting purchasing power and potentially curbing consumer spending.

3. Fiscal Constraints: Nigeria's high debt levels limit fiscal space for government intervention, making economic management more challenging.

Investment Opportunities:

While navigating these complexities, we believe promising avenues remain:

1. Infrastructure Development: Nigeria's infrastructure gap presents ample opportunities for investment in sectors like transportation, power, and digital infrastructure.

2. Agriculture & Agribusiness: Growing domestic demand and export potential make agriculture and agribusiness attractive sectors, fostering food security and economic diversification.

3. Renewable Energy: Nigeria's vast renewable energy potential offers attractive long-term investment opportunities, contributing to sustainability and energy security.
